Moby Dick

Today, Mom and I went to the Dallas Opera House to watch a special performance of Moby Dick with several students from my Gifted and Talented Language Arts class. This picture is of me and my teacher, Ms. Barta. She is the greatest teacher ever and should be teaching college, not high school...but that's another story. Anyways the performance was amazing. Each person's voice blew me away with it's strength and talent. The show was well put together, and had many amazing special effects. They must of had a huge projector, because I could see the ocean and storms reflected onto the stage during the scenes. It was so cool! The set was awesome too! I felt like I was on the boat myself hunting down the great white Moby Dick! It was a great experience for me, and I enjoyed the outing with my mom:)

Brendan's Trip to Ellis Island

(Brendan and our neighbor wait for the bus dressed up as immigrants for their trip to Ellis Island.) Because they learned about it in school, the 1st graders had the opportunity to pretend to be immigrants and travel to Ellis Island. Brendan was from Ireland, and Mom volunteered as a guard. It was a very fun day!

Liam's 1st Wrestling Match

This is Liam (green) killing his opponet in his first wrestling match for 7th and 8th graders in the district. He did very well, and learned a lot. We are all very proud of him!
These are his #1 fans!!!

Sean's Birthday

Sean Patrick Olohan turned four years old on April 18th and was so excited!!! Sean loves attention, so he was thrilled when he realized that the spotlight was on him for the entire day:)

This is Sean's cutsie face...he did this when he opened the gift from Mimi:)

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter everyone!
This morning, the kids enjoyed baskets of candy and goodies from the Easter Bunny as well as going to mass in our nice outfits and Easter bonnets. Our girls were the only ones wearing bonnets at church, with the exception of one woman and a baby, and everyone loved how we all dressed up:)We were chosen to bring up the gifts as well. Dad was very proud of all of us.

April Fools!

April Fools Day has always been a happy and fun day for our family as we remember Papa Bill's birthday and play funny little pranks on each other. This year was a lot more than solving a simple riddle, or waking up to a frozen toothbrush. This year, Liam decided to pull a series of pranks on the whole family...especially me.
I was doing homework downstairs in the kitchen. I made the decision that I would go to bed at a decent hour that night and wake up early to finish the rest of it, so I headed upstairs to my room. Liam had managed to tie two glasses of water to my door...one in the front, and one in the back. I opened my door(not seeing the glasses), got wet, and tried to shut the door in a hurry only to get drenched by the second cup. The water got on my homework, and all over the floor. ughh. Later, when I went to brush my teeth, I saw that my retainer was filled with salt. Luckily, I was smart enough not to fall for that one. Hoping that that was the end of the pranks, I set my alarm and went to bed. In the middle of the night, I woke up and decided to go to the bathroom. I went to go turn the handle of the door, and discovered that it was covered in peanut butter! It was dark and I was half asleep, so I rubbed my face and wiped my hands on my shirt not knowing what it was. Entering the bathroom, I saw that the toilet was covered in yellow water...the same water that was surrounding the toilet on the floor. "Gross!" I thought. "Liam is so dead..." I turned on the light and looked in the mirror. I had acquired a mustache! It was blue too! I washed the mustache (with intense scrubbing) and the peanut butter off my face before attempting to go to bed in peace. I woke up later than usual. My clock said 2pm. "That can't be right," I thought. I checked my cell phone and it was 6:48 am. I was super mad at Liam for changing my clock and making me wake up almost 2hrs later than I was supposed to! Also, Liam had tied a rope onto the door handles of my room, and the room that Mary and Erin share. Our rooms are parallel to each other so we both couldn't escape our rooms. Mom had to come free us with scissors. I found out that the rest of the family got plagued, and.....I missed the bus.

Mary got the full makeover:/

Our Very Own Jurassic Park

This is Sean Patrick Olohan. He loves dinosaurs, as you can see:) Sooo cute! These pictures are from when we went to Dinosaur Park (as an extended part of our camping trip.)

This is me and my favorite dinosaur!!!

I love this picture because it looks like Sean has no idea that a dinosaur is creeping up on him:)

We went exploring to see the dinosaurs when no one else was around so we could get special benefits. For instance, Dad let us climb over the ropes of the exhibits even though there were signs all over the place that said, "PLEASE DON'T CLIMB OVER THE ROPES!" haha

Brendan is so cute....even when a dino is eating his leg:)

This just shows how big dinosaurs really were!

Oh Erin and her runway poses! haha Notice how she is wearing her Google hat:)

Liam made friends with a dinosaur from Montana.

This must be a mother dinosaur:)

Sean is quite the actor...

...but this is classic :D

This is Mom and the Scariest Dinosaur!

Oh no! Watch out Mary!!!

osgood schlatters disease

Hey all this is Liam. Today running track I discovered that I had osgood schlatters disease. It is where the bones in my legs are growing faster than my leg muscle, causing a bend in the bone which pushes it out of my leg. If anyone knows how to treat please blog back.

Our Camping Trip cont.

" The longest journey through life, is down the path that leads us home." Tony G.

Our adventurous hike lead us to an ancient waterfall, a cave, a swamp, and a forest of deer tracks!!

The ants go marching nine by nine hoorah..hoorah...

Liam and his...machete???

Mary, Brendan, Kelsey, and Erin stop to rest after a long day's hike in the sun. We all had sunburns by the end of the trip.

City girl goes wild!!!....haha just kidding. I actually enjoyed myself believe it or not. Sometimes a little bit of fresh air can go a long way:)

Brendan and Dad passed the time by practicing some baseball!!!

Erin enjoyed soaking up the sun and smelling the fresh outdoor air.
"My favorite part of camping was cooking over the fire!" Erin said.

Mommy and Scruffy trying to keep warm!

We enjoyed fishing! A word of advice: the cheap toddler fishing poles DON'T WORK!

No luck catching any fish for dinner:(
Looking forward to fresh water trout.
